The objectives of Mississippi Canine Coalition, Inc. are:

**to actively assist or participate in local, state and national legislation concerning dogs and dog owners;

**to bring such legislation to the attention of the members and to the general public;

**to promote responsible dog ownership; 

**to use all legal means to promote the general welfare of dogs and dog owners; and

**to disseminate information and knowledge regarding dogs. 

What's New?

The Mississippi 2007 election is over.  We now know who our state and local officials and state legislators will be for the next four years.   It's time to focus on the 2008 legislative session.  If rumors are true, it will be an active session as far as animal related bills are concerned.  If you have not done so already, please find out who your state senator and your state representative is and go meet them in person.  Let them know that you  have concerns about the growing threat of the animal rights movement in Mississippi.  If your legislators do not appear to understand the difference between animal welfare and animal rights, you need to start the education process.  But first make sure you know the difference and, if not, educate yourself.  The MCCI can help in that regard.  If you have questions, please contact us at info@mississippi-canine-coalition.org .
